Error: The .lst file format...opening play list due to PP Viewer not installed.
Error:
Sorry, the .lst file format has been changed. Please look up .lst files in on-line help.
Cause:
PowerPoint for Windows 95 does not support .LST files (i.e., play lists).
Solution:
Install the PowerPoint Viewer, and run the play list in the PowerPoint Viewer.
1) Install the PowerPoint Viewer :
a) Click the 'Start' button to display the Windows 'Start' menu.

b) Select 'Settings' and select 'Control Panel'.

c) Open 'Add/Remove Programs'. (The Add/Remove Program Properties dialog box appears.)
d) Click the 'Install/Uninstall' tab.
e) Click 'Install...'. (The Install Program From Floppy Disk or CD-ROM dialog box appears.)
f) Insert the appropriate PowerPoint Viewer diskette or CD.
g) Follow the instructions as they appear.
2) Do one of the following to open the PowerPoint Viewer:
a) Double-click the PowerPoint Viewer shortcut icon, if one exists. (The PowerPoint Viewer opens.)
b) Create and use a shortcut icon, if one does not exist:
1] Create a shortcut icon for the PowerPoint Viewer.
2] Double-click the created shortcut icon.(The PowerPoint Viewer opens.)
c) Open the PowerPoint Viewer using the Windows 'Start' menu:
1] Click the 'Start' button to display the Windows 'Start' menu.

2] Select 'Run...'. (The Run dialog box appears.)
3] Type the following in the 'Command Line' box:
C:\<path>\PPTVIEW.EXE
(where C: is the drive letter of the disk where the PowerPoint viewer is stored, <path> is the full directory path to the PowerPoint viewer on that drive, and PPTVIEW.EXE is the executable program file).
4] Click 'OK'. (The PowerPoint Viewer opens.)
3) Select 'Play Lists (*.lst)' from the 'List Files of Type' drop-down list box.
4) Select the directory in which the desired play list file exists from the 'Directories' list box.
5) Type the name of the play list (.LST) to view in the 'File Name' box.
6) (Optional) To restart the show list at the beginning once it reaches the end, select the 'Loop Continuously Until 'Esc'' check box. NOTE: If this check box IS selected, the viewer runs continuously until ESC is pressed. If this check box is NOT selected, the viewer returns to the 'PowerPoint Viewer' dialog box when the show is over.
7) (Optional) To use the set timings rather than a manual click to move to the next slide, select the 'Use Automatic Timings' check box.
8) Click 'Show'.
NOTE: Press ESC at any time to stop the show and return to the 'PowerPoint Viewer' dialog box.
9) Click 'Quit' to exit the PowerPoint Viewer when the slide show is over.
